I recently saw a grumpy woman in a restaurant turn around in her seat to wag her finger and make a mean "shame on you, you're being disruptive" face to a little girl across the way who was happy, laughing and dancing in a seat next to her mother. Side note, the little girl was barely making any noise. The grumpy woman did this while the girl's parents weren't looking. After a momentary look of confusion, the little girl continued to dance bigger and laugh louder and added in some finger pointing to her moves, making her family laugh even more.
Yes it is very confusing to be expressing happiness and have someone make a face, judge, complain, and so on. So if someone disapproves of what you're doing and tries to correct you, the best thing you can do is just keep on dancing!
