Over the weekend I hosted a FREE photography workshop at my studio. Why free? Well, I LOVE to teach, I love to talk about photography and it’s a way for me to give back. The afternoon started with learning the basics (shutter, aperture, iso) about cameras, how they work and some tips on taking great pictures. Then we got on our feet and practiced. I had everyone photographing anything in the studio from the plants, to the flowers, to each other. And a very special treat, everyone got to participate in an actual portrait session with one of my clients. Let’s just say the client session was a bit of controlled chaos – 6 photographers, an 18 month old (having his first taste of cake), the parents and tons of toys. Everyone laughed, worked on being quick with their settings (you have to be quick when working with a toddler), and captured some really great moments. Plus, I grabbed a quick portrait of everyone, BONUS, new profile portrait! Woohoo! Below are a few pictures I took during the day. In the coming days you will also be able to see some of the work from the participants in the workshop through my JennKL Photography Workshops page on Facebook.
Please contact me (Jennifer(at)JennKL.com) to be added to my monthly newsletter if you’d like to be kept in the loop for the next free workshop. The free workshop will be each month for a couple hours.
*September’s FREE workshop will likely be a guided photo walk with me in a park for a couple hours – I’ll share tips on finding the best light and making the most of your location – date TBD*
